Meet our Students
Choosing the right university can be stressful. We happen to think that LA&PS at York will surpass your expectations. But don’t take our word for it.

Arshad Desai, a 3rd Year Honours History recommends our unique Black Canadian Studies program

"The BCS program introduces undergraduate students to the important work of Black academia that they likely would not encounter in other courses. Through experiential learning (such as Q&A events with prominent Black speakers), the program encourages students to think outside of the structure of theoretical lectures."
Munzungu Nzeyedio, 3rd year Political Science and Public Policy student found the perfect work placement at the Duke Heights Business Improvement Association with the help our Experiential Education team

"I highly, highly recommend it, although it’s important that your academic program is related to your position. It builds confidence and capacity and you find that you can transfer your academic skills and integrate them into the actual work environment."

Astrid Almeida, School of Administrative Studies is one of many students taking advantage of our classes at IBM Headquarters

"My experience at IBM has been incredible so far. Both IBM and York have made every effort to ensure that we settle in comfortably and are equipped with the tools necessary to succeed here. Our professors are equally impressed. On my first day of class, our professor was quick to display his admiration and enthusiasm of the new technology in our class."
Renae Appadurai, Business and Society,
Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) recipient

"For me this is a project of passion. A lot of my interests include media, the power of media and the arts. For Dr. Whitworth and I, that was a point of interest, examining how we are using these mechanisms."
